D SERIES
Rugged circular quick disconnect plastic connectors
Hypertac high density cable to chassis and cable to cable circular connectors (D series) provide reliable connection for critical applications such as defibrillators, catheters, MRI and scanning equipment, patient monitoring, ultrasound, infusion pumps and laboratory equipment.
They are also ideal for industrial applications where reliability is a must.
D series connectors are easy to use, thanks to the simple push-button latch, to the available colour coding and to a "D" shaped flange which makes "up" and "down" obvious.
They are available in two sizes to accommodate a wide variety of applications. The mini D01 plug has up to nine Hypertac contacts; the slightly larger D02 offers even more options, from three power to 25 signal contacts, or a mixture of power or coax and signal contacts.
Features include:
- Shock resistant plastic housing with coax, crimp, solder cup, PCB contacts
- Unique, simple latching system to eliminate field installation problems and down time caused by easily damaged squeeze, screw or push-pull styles
- Pin or socket contacts may be used in either the plug or receptacle, and all contacts are shrouded to prevent electrical shock or damage
- Crimp or solder cup style termination for 16 to 28 AWG conductors
- Combined coaxial/signal and power/signal contact arrangements

HOM CONNECTORS
High density mini modular connectors
HOM connectors from Hypertac offer a true modular solution that combines a wide variety of minimodules into a rugged Aluminium DIN 43652 frame housing in any series or combination.
A key advantage is the ability of engineers to customise a connector quickly and easily based on a wide range of modules housing contacts for signal, power, high-frequency, fibre optic, and coax, amongst others. The coax option is CoaxTac, a coaxial contact based on the hyperboloid wire basket contact.
Key features include a high number of mating cycles of over 100K without any degradation in performance, half-turn locking and minimal space requirements.
Based on the Hypertac ‘hyperboloid wire-basket’ contact, HOM offers a high degree of reliability in a rugged environment.
For the low diameter contacts (0.4 mm), the HOM pins are protected inside the insulator, and the sockets, stronger by design, are outside, similar to the ARINC 600 spec for #22 contacts. This principle is also applicable to the 0.6 mm contacts as an option. For safety, the male contacts are on the fixed side of the connector, with the female contacts on the free side. High density is easily achieved with an innovative design. A seven row module, for example, accommodates 260 H-Type 0.6mm diameter contacts and 585 H-Type 0.4mm contacts. Shielding is optional.
The HOM series connector is ideal for a variety of applications such as in the demanding medical, test and measurement markets. For medical use, HOM is designed to meet the applicable requirements of the IEC 60601 specification.

HyperGrip™
New circular plastic connectors and cable assembly
HyperGrip™ expands the company’s family of high reliability circular connectors and is designed and manufactured specifically for the medical industry. The user-configurable HyperGrip™ is colour-coded, customer keyable and available in sealed and shielded configurations.
The colour-code and keying provide an easily recognisable system for accurate and quick connections on medical equipment.
The sealing option on the HyperGrip™ offers IP67 protection when mated, to prevent electrical shorts. The shielding feature supplies EMI/RFI protection against interference.
Unique to HyperGrip™ is the Front or Rear Panel Mount receptacle design. This feature allows the user to mount the harness assembly from inside or outside of the case.
All of these features together, in one package, provide a complete solution for our customers.
HyperGrip™ is a user-configurable product comprised of few basic components so customers don’t have to purchase dozens of different components which often results in excess inventory. All in all, HyperGrip™ will have much shorter lead times than the competition and will reduce levels of inventory.
HyperGrip™ offers the unparalleled performance of the Hypertac® contact technology which provides high mating cycle life, low power consumption, low insertion force, reliability under harsh conditions, and maximum contact performance.

HYPERSPRING
New spring loaded contacts with hyperboloid socket
Hypertac introduces its new range of spring loaded contacts Hyperspring™ which benefits from the superior performances of the hyperboloid socket technology. The range includes power, signal and coaxial contact requirements.
The Hyperspring™ contact can be integrated into any connector where high reliability and precision is required. The mechanical action of the spring is independent from the electrical performance of the pin into Hypertac socket, resulting in better signal integrity and low signal disturbance in high density connector application.
Main features and benefits:
- Low sliding force
- Low contact resistance
- No contact discontinuity (measured down to 2 ns)
- Self cleaning contact
- High density
- Easy connection and disconnections: spring loaded contact helping disconnection
Applications:
Hyperspring™ Contact is applied in ultrasound connector system, allowing low height PCB interconnect, high signal density (more than 400 contacts), superior behaviour at high frequencies, low mating force and long life resistance.
Other applications include low height PCB interconnect, high density applications, medical testing devices and saver application (for easy replacement and maintenance)
